Professor at the University of San Sebastián, Chile. Director of the Doctorate in Psychology and Mental Health. Principal investigator in several projects on attachment, parenting, and alternative care in childhood. President of the Ibero-American Attachment Network. He completed his doctoral studies at Leiden University, the Netherlands, winning the award for best doctoral thesis for the period 2012-2014 at the Child and Family Studies Institute (Title: Childcare in Chile: The role of ethnicity and socioeconomic inequalities). He has been trained in attachment coding using the Strange Situation Procedure in Minnesota by Alan Sroufe, a procedure he has used in most of his studies. He is currently leading a study in Chile on the effectiveness of the online VIPP-SD intervention and its positive effects on maternal sensitivity, reduction of parental burnout, and other measures of child development.
